Thirty Day Challenge Update

Wow, this past month has really been intense. I have been taking part in Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge, and it has eaten up all of my free time. No freelance work, but I have been writing my butt off. I have started three new blogs that I have been using for the 30DC, plus I have really increased the amount that I have been writing on my restaurant blog. I haven’t made any money yet, so I haven’t won the challenge, but I have learned some very important lessons about what it takes to get your site ranked. I’ll be writing more about that in some upcoming posts.

Of the 4 sites I have been tracking results for, none of which were listed in the Google top 250 for the keyword phrases I chose, 3 were ranked in teh top 10 when I checked yesterday, so I’m pretty pleased about that. There are still some issues I need to work on about converting visitors into sales, so I still have much to learn, but the knowledge I’ve already gained is worth a fortune.

That doesn’t mean I have abandoned my freelance work. I bid on several jobs yesterday that could result in some nice income over the next month. We’ll just have to see how that goes.

Remember to check back because I am going to be talking in more detail about my experiences with the Thirty Day Challenge, and what that can mean for your blog.
